Course Description
The course covers the requirements of
the Monitor Food Safety Program
(SIRRFSA002A), a nationally recognised qualification.
Course Objectives
To provide staff with the knowledge, skills
and qualification to confidently and legally
carry out their role as Food Safety Supervisors
under legislation.
Specific Areas Covered
- Monitor the implementation of the Food Safety Program and contribute to continuous improvement
- Review the Food Safety program and keep food safety records
- Respond to occurrences of non-compliance
- Role and responsibilities of a Food Safety Supervisor

This course is developed for experienced staff
that have the knowledge and authority to
prepare and manage a Food Safety Plan.

to complete their training at a time to suit. It

and money travelling to a training facility.
Duration
2-4 hours should cover the FSS course, plus
practical assessment.
Requirements
A computer with speakers, Internet
connection and Explorer 7 or equivalent,
Flash 7 Player or higher.
Learning Outcome
On successful completion of the course and
the assessment, participants will receive a
Statement of Attainment for the unit:
- Monitor Food Safety Program (SIRRFSA002A)
This unit forms part of SIR30207 Certificate III
in Retail.
Prerequisites
Participants must have completed the unit
Apply Retail Food Safety Practices
(SIRRFSA001A) or equivalent prior to
completing this course.
If this course has not been completed,
participants will be required to purchase our
combined course.

Overview
This nationally recognised online training
course is designed to be delivered to
those responsible for the implementation
and monitoring of the food safety
program within a retail food business.
This course provides the necessary qualification required for a Food Safety Supervisor.
Australian Food Safety Standard 3.2.2
requires food businesses ensure that
people who handle food and the people
who supervise them, have skills and
knowledge in food safety and food
hygiene for the work they do.
Apart from holding the required
competencies, they must also:
- Have the ability to supervise food handling practices in the food business;
- Be reasonably available at all times the food business is operating; and
- Have the authority to supervise and give instructions to food handlers.
A Food Safety Supervisor must have a
statement of attainment issued by a
Registered Training Organisation such as
MGA training to meet the requirements
under the law.
